Mundubbera is home to the largest blueberry farm in the southern hemisphere! Pretty big deal right! So we’re celebrating. And in style! 

Friday 21 October 2022 kicks off the Mundubbera Blueberry Festival and will showcase amazing local produce during a Gourmet dinner event in a mystery location.

 

Saturday 22nd October is a big one with the Berry Big Day Out Artisan Market & family fun day bringing all the good things from 9am – 4pm. 

 

Later Saturday evening, at the Blueberry Jam Sesh, join us for a live music spectacular featuring Russell Morris, Jem Cassar-Daley, Creedence Clearwater Revival Music Show and many more amazing artists. It is a night out in the country that is NOT to be missed!

Feast on amazing gourmet goodness prepared by Chef Kelly Voss in a beautiful mystery location while being serenaded by the soothing sounds of Soul Tree Union.

Berry big day out

Relax along the Burnett River and soak up live music and entertainment while browsing over 80 craft and food stalls at this Artisan Market and Family Fun Day.

Where is Mundubbera?

 

Mundubbera is located in the North Burnett Region in Queensland. It is 363 kilometres north west of Brisbane, and 190 kilometres west of the regional centre, Bundaberg. It is well known in the area for its large citrus production, and is home to the largest covered Blueberry farm in the Southern Hemisphere. Watch the town of just under 2000 people come alive and enjoy the warm country welcome as we celebrate all things local!

Which of the 3 events are free or ticketed?

 

The Gastronomical Delight by Night and the Blueberry Jam Sesh are both ticketed events, however the Berry Big Day Out Artisan markets are completely free. 

 

Can I bring my dog to any festival events?

 

The Berry Big Day Out market day is welcome to all, including fur-babies. However the Blueberry Jam Sesh and the Gastronomical Delight by Night is not able to cater for dogs unfortunately, unless they are guide dogs.

 

Can I bring my kids to any festival events?

 

The Berry Big Day Out is a family fun day so definitely bring along your kids as they will LOVE the amusement rides and entertainment we have lined up for them. The Gastronomical Delight by Night is mainly catered for adults and there is only an Adult ticket price available however babies under the age of 2 years are welcome to come with their parents for free. The Blueberry Jam Sesh is an all ages event, with both adult and children ticket prices available.

 

Are babies free admission to the Blueberry Jam Sesh and Gastronomical Delight by Night?

 

Babies under the age of 2 are admitted free to the Gastronomical Delight by Night event and children under 5 are admitted free of charge into the Blueberry Jam Sesh.

 

Can I bring my own chairs and blankets to the Blueberry Jam Sesh?

 

Yes please!  No seating is provided at the Blueberry Jam Sesh so you are encouraged to bring your portable chairs and/or picnic blankets along.  We ask that you do not set up directly in front of the stage.  There is no specific rule as to what size chairs need to be, but we suggest you bring a low profile chair. Please exercise common sense and ensure that your chair is easily portable and will not cause obstruction. The Festival staff will determine in their discretion whether a chair is suitable or if it needs to be moved.

 

Can I BYO drinks and eskies into the Blueberry Jam Sesh?

 

The Blueberry Jam Sesh is a fully catered and licensed event. Strictly NO FOOD OR DRINKS are to be brought into the venue. There will be a vast range of food as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Colour coded wristbands will be issued upon entry clearly identifying patrons over the age of 18 years.  Bar staff may also ask to view ID to confirm age upon purchase of alcoholic drinks. 

 

It says the Gastronomical Delight by Night is in a mystery location – so where do I go for it?

 

The bus will depart from the bus stop on Bauer St, Mundubbera at 6.30pm and take you to the mystery location where a beautiful scene & amazing food will await you. The bus will also be dropping you back to Bauer St at completion of the event. Buses will start the return journey on a shuttle basis from 10.30pm.  We expect the event to go for approx. 5 hours. 

 

Is there a dress code for the Gastronomical Delight by Night?

 

There is no stipulated dress code for this event, however we encourage you to dress in smart casual clothes that has plenty of room for the delicious food on offer and allows for your dance moves!

 

Is there designated seating at the Gastronomical Delight by Night and the Blueberry Jam Sesh?

 

There is no designated seating at either event.  You are encouraged to bring your own chairs to the Blueberry Jam Sesh for your own comfort. However we can guarantee you won’t be spending much time in them as you’ll be getting up and dancing in no time!

 

What facilities do you have at the events? Are they all accessible by wheelchairs/prams?

 

The buses that have been engaged to transport people to the venue of the Gastronomical Delight by Night do not have wheelchair access.  When purchasing tickets you are asked if you have mobility issues.  Please note any difficulties or limitations you have.  If you are in a wheelchair or not able to access a bus, you will be provided with the venue location so you can travel via private transport the afternoon of the event.  All venues are located on the ground and are accessible by all.  There will be ample toilets provided at all of the events, with wheelchair/pram accessible toilets located in the fixed toilet buildings at Bicentennial Park and Archer Park. An additional portable accessible toilet will be offered at Archer Park.  The Gastronomical Delight by Night venue also offers accessible toilets. 

 

Can I bring my own water bottle into the events? Are there water refill stations?

 

Unfortunately water refill stations are not available at the events, so you are welcome to bring your own water bottles.  Additional water is able to be purchased throughout the venue. 

 

What are the playing times of the artists at the Blueberry Jam Sesh?

 

We will be releasing playing times of the artists closer to the event date so make sure you stay up to date by following our Facebook and Instagram pages to plan your evening!

 

Are there pensioner or concession tickets available?

 

No, we only have the two ticket types available for the Blueberry Jam Sesh – Adult prices $75 Children aged 5 – 15 years $35.  Children under the age of 5 are free.

 

Will there be EFTPOS available at the events?

 

Stallholders may offer EFTPOS at their discretion.  EFTPOS will be available at the bar at the Gastronomical Delight by Night event as well as at the Merch Tent at the Berry Big Day out and the Blueberry Jam Sesh.  A number of ATMs are located in nearby Lyons Street, a short walk from the market and music venues.

 

What parking is offered at the Festival? 

 

People attending the Gastronomical Delight by Night are encouraged to angle park in Bauer Street to catch the bus to the venue.  People attending the Berry Big Day Out and Blueberry Jam Sesh will be directed to parking spaces by our wonderful volunteers along Seligmann Avenue on Saturday 22nd October.  People with mobility issues are welcome to park in the Railway yard off Bauer Street, again as directed by Volunteers.
